The theme for our church this year is “Back to Basics: ‘Till Jesus Comes”. Our desire as a church is to “push the reset button” and get back to learning and doing the basics of what the Bible says. The theme verse for this year is Revelation 2:5.
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
As part of getting back to the basics, Pastor is teaching every Wednesday night on various topics that would be considered “basic” for a Christian. For the last several weeks, we’ve learned about the basics of salvation. What salvation is, what it isn’t, how a person can receive it, and the many wonderful blessings that come along with salvation.
Tonight, we’ll begin learning what the Bible says about baptism. We’ll be learning Biblical answers to questions such as:
- What does the word “baptize” mean?
- Is baptism necessary to go to Heaven?
- Should babies and children get baptized?
- What if someone dies without being baptized?
- Is baptism water “holy water”?
- …and many more.
Come tonight and every Wednesday evening at 7 PM! You’ll learn truths from the Word of God and be helped as we get “Back to Basics”.
