As we go forward this year – ‘Til Jesus Comes – let’s be sure to do it His way. Let’s be careful to do what He says is important. Let’s be careful not to “cut corners”.

In Revelation 2, our Lord admonishes the church of Ephesus to “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

He is warning them to get back to doing the first works or else their church will no longer exist. Do the first works – the basics.

This is imperative to a church. This is imperative to us, individually, as God’s people. This is imperative to our families.

“Back to Basics” is our theme for this Sunday, January 17. Being in Sunday School and each of the services is part of “The Basics”.
